Why Should I Pay Attention to Content Types in MOSS?

Windows SharePoint Services could be described as the standards based content management engine that facilitates document management, unmatched information sharing, collaboration and enterprise data exchange. You CANNOT create an information taxonomy without the correct use of content types. WSS technology is built on and organized using content types. WSS makes it possible to standardize many aspects of content and lifecycle characteristics through content types.
