Last week I taught the two SharePoint classes offered by Microsoft to students in the Raleigh Durham, Research Triangle Park area. Students beware; the courseware is great if backed by a great instructor that truly has experience with the software. Traditional instructors with lack of field experience will have difficulty teaching the course. The instructor who tried to teach the class the prior week was removed after the second day of class.
After reviewing the MS courseware I do think the third party classes from SharePoint Solutions and others are a bit weak and fail to teach some of the technology sets. These courses do offer development solutions which are missing from MS at this time.
It was a delight to teach the class, the students seemed to gain much from the courseware and the experience I could bring to the classroom. You can find the course outlines below.
